Nay Pyi Taw, 25 June — The Ministry of National Planning and Economic Development hosted a meeting Thursday between local and United States business representatives on expansion of U.S. investment in Myanmar.
Union Minister Dr Kan Zaw, who led the Myanmar delegation, gave details about sectors in which U.S. businesses are investing. He called on the U.S. delegation led by US-ASEAN Business Council chairman Mr Alexander C. Feldman to help boost bilateral economic relations.
The US delegation, consisting of 15 companies including Chevron, GE and Time Warner, sought information on Myanmar’s investment potential, showing strong interest in infrastructure, human resources, natural gas, health, agriculture, film and TV, insurance and ICT sectors.
The meeting was attended by 40 officials from both sides. — MNA
