UEC examines three Shan State-based political parties as per Political Parties Registration Law and Rules

UEC Chairman U Thein Soe meets chairmen and members of PNO, Inn National League Party and Danu National Democracy Party at Shan State government office on 30 June.

Union Election Commission Chairman U Thein Soe met with Chairperson and members of Pa-O National Organization-PNO, Inn National League Party and Danu National Democracy Party at Shan State government office in Shan State (South) and inspected the party’s work procedures in accordance with the Political Parties Registration Law and Rules yesterday.
These parties were permitted to register in May 2023 in accord with the Political Parties Registration Law and Rules.
During the meeting, the UEC Chairman highlighted the needs to follow the Political Parties Registration Law and Rules released by UEC, gather the numbers of party member as per the stipulation within 90 days, seek permission of respective General Administration Departments and township Municipal Committees to establish township party offices within 180 days, conduct systematic set up for township party offices and duty assignment to members, change of national ID cards with citizenship scrutiny cards and make preparations after opening party offices to be ready for the inspection tours of UEC, General Administration Department, Ministry of Planning and Finance and office of the auditors department.
The PNO headquarters based in Taunggyi Township of Shan State (South) is located at No 18 of west ring road in Zaypaing Ward in Taunggyi and allowed to register as political party as per Section 9 of Political Parties Registration Law with notification No 15/2023 of UEC, while the Inn National League Party headquarters located in Yongyi street, near Taiknan bridge of Kantha Ward of Nyaungshwe with notification No 20/2023 and Danu National Democracy Party at No 10/64 in Cherry street of No 10 ward of Kalaw with notification No 26/2023. — MNA/KTZH
