UEC, IIIDEM conduct Training of Trainers and Facilitators

The Union Election Commission (UEC) and India International Institute of Democracy and Election Management (IIIDEM) jointly conducted Training of Trainers and Facilitators (TTF) at the office of UEC in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
The training is a part of the Memorandum of Understanding between India and Myanmar, signed on 6th September last year.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the training, U Hla Thein, Chairman of the UEC, expressed UEC’s willingness to make further cooperation with the IIIDEM. A total of 25 trainees are attending the five-day course and trainers from IIIDEM are giving lectures at the second training under the MoU. The first training was conducted in India and a total of 25 trainees attended it from 16 to 25 July in New Delhi, India.
A total of nine trainings will be conducted in 2018 and 2019 in India and Myanmar alternatively, said Dr. Bhagbanprakash, Senior Advisor of the IIIDEM.
He said that India will cooperate with Myanmar in transition to democracy and will share its experiences with Myanmar.— MNA
