The Union Election Commission discussed electoral experience with the South Korea’s National Election Commission online on 7 October.
UEC member U Saw Daniel Kyi, Deputy Minister for Health and Sports Dr Mya Lay Sein, Deputy Secretary-General of the South Korea’s National Election Commission (NEC) Cho Joon-ki, officials from the UEC and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs attended the online discussion.
The Deputy Secretary-General of NEC shared experiences on the successful completion of elections in their country in accordance with the disease prevention and control measures during the COVID-19 outbreak, arrangement of polling stations, voting procedures, safety arrangements for polling station staff and voters.
UEC member U Saw Daniel Kyi and Deputy Minister for Health and Sports Dr Mya Lay Sein explained the preparations for the 2020 General Election in Myanmar in line with COVID-19 prevention and control measures and the arrangements to ensure that all eligible voters have the rights to vote.— MNA (Translated by Ei Phyu Phyu Aung)
