
The Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement, Dr. Win Myat Aye, received delegations from the International Relations Task Force of the Union Enterprise for Humanitarian Assistance, Resettlement and Development in Rakhine State (UEHRD) and Singapore-based Asia Philanthropy Circle (APC) at his ministry yesterday.
During the meeting, both sides discussed the Peace University project in MraukU, Rakhine State, initiated under the cooperation of the UEHRD’s International Task Force and APC and in coordination with relevant Hluttaw, government and ministries at the region/state levels.
They also talked about conducting vocational training courses in Rakhine to promote peace, stability, harmonious coexistence and eventually leading to socio-economic development, promoting the development of the hotels and tourism industry, community centres, preserving cultural heritage, and the Peace University’s possible areas of contribution in the future. —MNA (Translated by Zaw Htet Oo)
