In an early morning fight on 15 September (Myanmar standard time), UFC 306 saw Myanmar fighter Joshua Van claimed victory by decision against Mexican opponent Edgar. The bout took place in the United States, where the two fighters battled it out across three rounds, with no clear knockout.
Ultimately, the fight went to the judges’ scorecards, where Van secured the win. The first round was closely contested, with both fighters testing each other’s skills. As the round progressed, Edgar appeared to have the edge, landing more significant strikes.
However, in the second and third rounds, Joshua Van regained control of the fight, dictating the pace and outscoring Edgar, though unable to secure a knockout. The decision win further solidifies Van’s rising trajectory in the sport. This victory marks Joshua Van’s 11th in 13 career fights and his fourth win in five bouts since signing with the UFC. —Shine Htet Zaw/KZL
