UNHCR Resident Representative calls on MoIP Union Minister

Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing meets UNHCR’s Representative for Myanmar Ms Noriko Takagi in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing received Ms Noriko Takagi, UNHCR’s representative for Myanmar, and her delegation at his office in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
The meeting focused on various key areas, including the ongoing repatriation process for displaced persons from Rakhine State. They also dealt with the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the ministry and UNDP-UNHCR.
The main topics included the progress of activities under the MoU, facilitation of visa issues for UNHCR foreign staff, travel arrangements for local staff, support for the import of operational materials, and the continuation of collaborative efforts between the ministry and UNDP-UNHCR. Both sides engaged in an open and transparent exchange of views on these matters. — MNA/KZL
