Union Attorney-General U Htun Htun Oo attended the 22nd International Association of Prosecutors (IAP) Annual Conference held in Beijing, China on 11-15 September, 2017.
The annual conference was attended by more than 500 representatives from 98 countries and international organisations.
At the conference, matters relating to technical cooperation between prosecutor organisations, the effect of the internet and social media on society and the dangers of terrorism, acquiring digital evidence, mutual assistance between countries in criminal cases, government prosecutors from countries cooperating and sharing experiences in electronic crime, environmental crime, terrorism, money laundering, corruption, human trafficking, transnational crime, training programmes, prosecution works to be conducted for the benefit of the people, rule of law in society and fairness of law sectors were discussed.
The Union Attorney-General met with H.E. Mr. Cao Jianming, the Prosecutor-General of the Supreme People’s Procurate of the People’s Republic of China on 12 September and cordially discussed increasing bilateral cooperation, development and improvement of the legal sector, increased cooperation on transnational crimes, the status of sending scholars and future works between the Union Attorney-General office and the Prosecutor General’s office .
