On the morning of 27 July, Union Chief Justice U Htun Htun Oo attended the launch ceremony of the ASEAN Judiciaries Portal (AJP) and the 6th Council of ASEAN Chief Justices (CACJ) meeting held in the Republic of Singapore.
The launch of AJP was conducted at the 6th CACJ meeting, and present at the event were ASEAN secretary general, Singapore ministers, Norwegian representative to the ASEAN, ASEAN chief justices, senior judges and representative groups.
AJP is an internet portal that provides information on the laws of ASEAN countries and judiciary matters in a single location and was established with the support of the Norway government for close cooperation between ASEAN judicial organisations.
The 6th CACJ meeting was attended by ASEAN chief justices, senior judges and work group representatives. At the meeting, work groups submitted reports on judiciary matters. ASEAN chief justices and senior judges then discussed the reports, future work and issued a “Singapore Declaration”.
The Union Supreme Court is conducting judicial reforms in Myanmar together with judicial cooperation work in the ASEAN region, it is learnt.—Myanmar News Agency
