Union Construction Minister inspects progress of 7-storey building at YGH

Union Minister for Construction U Myo Thant visited the construction site of the Yangon General Hospital’s 7-storey building in Latha Township, Yangon Region, which is being constructed by the Special Construction Task Force (1), Department of Buildings, on 18 February.
Officials explained construction of the 7-storey building of the Yangon General Hospital in sections such as civil section, clean/sanitation section, and power supply section, progress of tasks and future plans, and Director General of the Department of Buildings U Myo Myint, made a supplementary presentation.
In relation to the submissions, the Union Minister instructed officials to verify the needs of the Ministry of Health meeting the international standards for hospital buildings and to complete the construction tasks in time.
The seven-storey building construction work started on 27 May 2018, and now 55% of the project has been completed.
After that, the Union Minister met with staff from departments, special task forces and eight districts in Yangon Region at the Yangon Region Highways Department.
At the meeting, Director of Yangon Region (Civil) U Htin Kyaw reported on the detail working processes of the construction of the buildings, bridges, and roads in Yangon Region.
The Union Minister said that they must continue to take their responsibility for the development of the roads and communication sector in Yangon Region with momentum.
The main responsibility of their ministry is to do their best to develop the transportation and housing sectors to make transportation and living easier for the people, he said.
He urged officials to work hard to build roads, bridges, civil, and housing development work progress in the region in line with the rules and regulations.—MNA/KZL
