Union Education Minister meets Head of Asia Bureau

Union Minister for Education Dr Nyunt Pe met Head of Asia Bureau of Asahi Shimbun Newspaper, Japan, Mr Onaga Tadao at the lobby of the Ministry of Education Office in Nay Pyi Taw at 10:30 am yesterday.
During the meeting, the post-COVID-19 education conditions were discussed, and the Union minister gave comprehensive answers to the enquires raised.
Next, the Union minister said that education was important for the development of the country with a large number of skilled and knowledgeable people.
At a time when the COVID-19 pandemic is declining, primary schools and universities have been opened, and now the primary school year is coming to an end, the Union minister said.
Arrangements are being made for students to continue their studies as usual and new teachers were also trained and appointed, he added.
He said that he would like to work together for the education of the country in the future as Myanmar and Japan have been friends for many years.
Deputy Minister Dr Zaw Myint and Permanent Secretary Dr Soe Win also attended the meeting. —MNA
