Union Industry Minister attends 13th Industrial Fair opening in Yekaterinburg

A Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister for Industry Dr Charlie Than arrived in Yekaterinburg to attend the 13th Industrial Fair in Yekaterinburg, Russian Federation yesterday morning.
The Union Minister attended the opening ceremony of the 13th Industrial Fair together with the Ministers from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Sri Lanka, Ethiopia, Zimbabwe and the Russian Federation.
The ministers from the Russian Federation, Belarus and Kazakhstan gave opening speeches.
Then, Union Minister Dr Charlie Than participated in a panel discussion on the topic of Sustainable Manufacturing Strategies of Renewal and replied to the questions of the moderator regarding ‘Building Economic Relations and Protecting your Own Manufacturer’.
Furthermore, the Union Minister said that Myanmar is similar to the Russian Federation in terms of terrain, the wealth of natural resources, and, in particular, the potential production of iron ore. As a result, steel production is another area that should be prioritized. Myanmar is now receiving assistance from the Russian Federation in the steel-producing industry.
The Union Minister also said that Myanmar students have been studying engineering, aviation, maritime and other subjects at Russian universities for almost two decades. Myanmar is also striving hard to become an industrial country. He also voiced his view that the industrial endeavours being undertaken by the Russian Federation will benefit Myanmar. — MNA/KZW
