Union Industry Minister meets EU-Asia Economic Commission delegation

The MoI Union Minister holds talks with the Eurasian Economic Commission delegation in Nay Pyi Taw on 25 March.

Union Minister for Industry Dr Charlie Than received a delegation led by Vice-Chairman of the Russian Association for Friendship and Cooperation with Myanmar Mr Vitaly Maliev at the meeting hall of the Ministry of Industry on 25 March.
During the meeting, potential investment issues between the Ministry of Industry and the Eurasian Economic Commission were discussed.
They also said that the Ministry of Industry wants to cooperate in the areas of iron and steel production and pharmaceutical industry as Russia provides technical assistance for the speedy resumption of No 2 Steel Mill (Pinpet).
Sending experts, cooperation with Russian pharmaceutical companies in the production of cancer drugs that Myanmar Pharmaceuticals is trying to produce, infrastructure development and electricity sector development were also focused in the meeting.
They also discussed the successful holding of the Russia-Myanmar Business Forum to enhance cooperation in the industrial sector and bilateral economic sector.
The deputy ministers from the Ministry of Industry, the directors-general, managing directors and officials also attended the meeting.—MNA
