Union Information Minister inspects Pathein University library

Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn presents two DTH dishes and 15 DVB-T2 set-top boxes to the Geography Department at Pathein University yesterday.

Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn, who is also chairman of Myanmar Libraries Cooperation Development Committee, inspected Pathein University’s Library, together with Ayeyawady Region Chief Minister U Tin Maung Win, yesterday.
The Union minister first met students and faculty members reading in the library, highlighted the efforts to place different genres of publications to enrich the knowledge of students, and presented books on public science donated by the Head of State to the library.
The Union minister also attended the respect-paying ceremony, fresher welcome, farewell and awarding ceremony of the Geography and Environmental Studies Family of the 2023-2024 academic year at the convocation hall.
He donated two DTH dishes and 15 DVB-T2 set-top boxes, and the region chief minister donated K1 million to the Geography Department.
At the university meeting hall, Rector Dr Than Tun clarified the university’s procedures, and the faculty members of different departments read out their papers related to MSME development.
Then, the chief minister reported on agriculture and livestock breeding-based research conducted at Pathein University and plans to start proper research on manufacturing and the market.
Finally, the Union minister provided proper instructions. — MNA/KTZH
