Union Minister Dr Nyunt Pe inspects schools to be reopened in Nay Pyi Taw

Union Minister for Education, Dr Nyunt Pe, Deputy Minister Dr Zaw Myint and U Zaw Win, Deputy Director- General for the Department of Basic Education, Education Officer for Nay Pyi Taw Council Territory visited No (18) Basis Education High School, No (9) Basic Education Post- Primary School (Yedi village) and No (19) Basic Education High School and inspected the preparations for reopening basic education schools in Dekkhinathiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw.

During the inspection tour, the Union Minister said to the relevant education officers and teachers to prepare for the reopening of schools in accordance with the COVID-19 preventive rules and regulations, to provide a school library for the students, to assign teachers and provide relevant books at library for the development of school library. He added classrooms, laboratory equipment required for the school as well as staff housing for teachers and toilets will be provided effectively and promptly in accordance with the procedures.

The Union Minister continued teachers must abide by the staff rules and regulations in order to implement a quality education system and refresher courses will be held in order to improve the teaching quality of teachers on 17 March in the respective townships, adding that arrangements are being made for qualified teachers to study BED degree courses at nearby education degree colleges such as Toungoo Education Degree College and Meiktila Education Degree College.

He also urged to work together to complete the teaching and management arrangements for the opening of basic education schools within the stipulated time.

Afterwards, the Union Minister inspected the preparation of schools and coordinated as necessary. —MNA
