Union Minister Dr Thet Thet Khine receives officials from MNHRC

Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Thet Thet Khine received the Chairman, the Vice Chairman and officials of the Myanmar National Human Rights Commission yesterday afternoon in Nay Pyi Taw.
The meeting discussed matters pertaining to the cooperation with the Asia-Pacific and South East Asia Human Rights Associations as a member, further collaboration with the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement to ensure that there is no violation of human rights of the vulnerable groups, assistance for children, women, aged people, persons with disability, displaced persons, temporary detention of the detainees who are under 18 at the Thanlyin Youth Training School of the Ministry, coordination among the Yangon Region Administration Council, Union Supreme Court and the Ministry for the detainees awaiting trial to expedite the necessary litigation as the COVID-19 disease causes delays in trial for them, collaboration between the Social Welfare Department and the commission for the public awareness campaigns regarding the human rights, implementation on the suggestion of the commission after the inspection to the youth training schools and the latest development of the drafted law and rules. – MNA
