Union Minister Dr Win Myat Aye discusses development works for mountain tribes

Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Win Myat Aye held a meeting with local leaders of ethnic people at Botma village-tract in the remote areas of the eastern part of Pyinmana Township yesterday.
At the meeting, the Union Minister explained assistance to less-developed areas, the government’s focus on equality for all national people in the establishment of a genuine Democratic Federal Union, and laying a democratic foundation of the government.
He also discussed the role of people’s representatives in solving difficulties of ethnic people, the government’s plans to fulfil the needs of people in upcoming years. The Union Minister also talked about peace agreements among the government, Tatmadaw, Hluttaw, political parties and ethnic armed organizations, plans for peace-making processes in the post-2020, plans for infrastructural development, water supply, education, health, employment, protecting citizen rights, social welfare, collaborative works among state agencies and the importance of healthcare guidelines for
COVID-19. Pyithu Hluttaw MP U Than Soe Aung from Pyinmana Township briefed on the assistance programmes for local people.
Ethnic local people from seven villages reported on the needs of mobile telephone communications, solar power supply, repairing roads and damages caused by natural disasters, water supply, health and education facilities. The Union Minister and party coordinated the discussions of local people.
They also presented 63 household solar power lamps, hand sanitizers and masks for the village representatives in Botma village-tract, and K900,000, toys and snacks for women, children and rural development work at four villages of Botma village-tracts and five villages in Alechaung village-tract.—MNA (Translated by Aung Khin)
