Union Minister Dr Win Myat Aye presents social pension to senior citizens in Sagaing

Union Minister of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Win Myat Aye provided food supplies, cash assistance and medical equipment for prevention of COVID-19, life jackets and life boats to the flood victims in Sagaing Region yesterday morning. Social pensions were also given to the age group of 85 years and older. The Union Minister and party firstly visited Yoon Monastery in Mingin Township and donated Waso-robe and offertories to the leading monk of the monastery. He also donated K4.2million to construct two units of three-attached public toilet buildings for the flood victims who are taking shelter at the monastery.
The Union Minister provided K388,500 cash assistance, instant noodle, masks and soap bars for COVID-19 to 185 flood victims of Mingin township and presented a motor boat and life jackets worth of K4.2million to the relevant officials to use in rescue works. He also provided a total of K10,350,000 as monthly social pension to 345 elderly aged 85 and above. The Union Minister and party visited Shwe Pyi Tan Home for the Aged in Mingin Township, and met the committee members of centre and discussed the processes, trainings of caring for the elderly persons and contributed K500,000 for the fund of centre.—MNA (Translated by Khine Thazin Han)
