Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Win Myat Aye received Ms Hai Kyung Jun, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Representative to Myanmar, Deputy Representative Ms Yukiko Iriyama and party yesterday morning in Nay Pyi Taw.
At the meeting, Ms Yukiko Iriyama discussed the findings during her recent visit to UNHCR projects in Rakhine State and Kayin State where she made discussion with relevant governmental departments and further activities and the progress of Quick Impact Projects in Rakhine State.
The Union Minister discussed the coordination with Union Ministries, regional governments and United Nations Humanitarian Response Depot for resettlement of displaced persons and closure of the IDP camps in line with National Strategy on Resettlement of Internally Displaced Persons and Closure of IDP Camps.
The meeting also discussed the coordination activities for lasting peace and conflict resolution, socio-economic development works, more employment opportunities, and to ensure equitable access to education, health and social services, coordination for mine safety which is important for resettlement and rehabilitation work and for cooperation with UNHCR in relevant fields.—MNA (Translated by Ei Phyu Phyu Aung)
