Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Win Myat Aye separately received Mr. Benjamin Rhodes from NBC and MSNBC news agency and Mr. Yuta Momose of Japan Heart in the ministry’s Maykhalar Hall yesterday morning.
During the meeting with NBC and MSNBC news agency matters relating to social protection and care services provided by the ministry, children’s rights, prevention of violence against women, rehabilitation of drug users, drawing up and implementation of youth policy, disaster management, peace process and holding of 21st Century Panglong Conference, implementation of recommendations on Rakhine State, cooperation with international organizations, receiving of returnees, ministry’s works on bringing about harmony between the two societies in Rakhine State, humanitarian assistances provided through international organizations, Red Cross and UEHRD youth programs, occurrence of real changes and the works conducted by the Union Government for the socio-economic development of the people were discussed.
Similarly in the meeting with Japan Heart, matters relating to development of blind medical massage, cooperation between Japan Heart and the ministry on work program to implement systematic teaching of massage to people with impaired vision and create work opportunities, drawing a curriculum for systematic teaching of massage for people with impaired vision, conducting a one year basic and one and half year advance courses, coordinating with relevant ministries to issue certificates and future works were discussed.
