Union Minister for Foreign Affairs meets with Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister

On the sidelines of the ASEAN-China Foreign Ministers’ Special Meeting and 6th Langcang-Mekong Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Chongqing, China, U Wunna Maung Lwin, Union Minister for Foreign Affairs, met with Mr Wang Yi, State Councilor and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China at 11:45 am on 8-6-2021, at the Sunac Centro Hall of Wanda Realm Chongqing Hotel.
At the meeting, they cordially exchanged views on matters pertaining to the further advancement of the existing Pauk Phaw relations, the continued implementation of Myanmar-China bilateral projects, strengthening of cooperation in the fight against the Covid-19 and access to the Covid-19 vaccines for the people of Myanmar, the continued cooperation for the maintenance of peace and stability along the border between Myanmar and China. They also discussed for closer collaboration between the two countries in both regional and multilateral contexts, particularly the ASEAN and the United Nations. The two Foreign Ministers touched on China’s continued constructive assistance for the political developments of Myanmar on the basis of ASEAN’s non-interference policy and ASEAN Way.
The Union Minister also apprised on the latest developments of Myanmar and the achievements made on the implementation of the Five-Point Road Map and the Nine political, economic and social objectives of the State Administration Council for all-round development of Myanmar.—MNA
