Union Minister for Industry inspects departments, factories in Shan state

Union Minister for Industry Dr Charlie Than made an inspection tour to departments and factories in Shan State for three days from 30 September to 2 October.
On 30 September, the Union Minister arrived at the Department of Industrial Supervision and Inspection in Taunggyi, Shan State. Officials presented the operational implementation, support for the development of small and medium enterprises and staffing issues. The Union Minister instructed them to conduct appropriate training to transform labours in industrial zones into skilled workers, to set “standard” for occupational skills, to review and issue certificates to them.
Afterward, the Union Minister accompanied by the members of the Project Supervision Committee inspected the No. (2) Steel Mill (Pinpat) and discussed the report of the committee on the resumption of the mill. He gave instructions to the members of the committee on the necessary matters and made a detailed inspection of the completed and remaining work of each branch of the mill.
On 1 October, the Union Minister for Industry and Union Minister for Electricity and Energy U Aung Than Oo inspected the power consumption and installation of the machines in Main Step Down Sub-Station, Heat Recovery Power Station and Air Separation Shop. The Union Ministers coordinated the matters related to the availability of stable power from different sources to prevent power outages for starting the kiln with the use of the Romelt technology.
On 2 October, the Union Minister cordially met with staff from the No. (2) Steel Mill (Pinpat), and said the mill will produce iron and steel by using the domestic resources and it is necessary that all staff work together to timely complete the productions that support the development of the State and the industrial sector. — MNA
