Union Minister for Industry Dr Charlie Than visited No. 1 Steel Mill (Myingyan) in Myingyan Township, Mandalay Region on 13 August.
In the meeting hall, the mill manager and officials explained the status of the factory, and project activities.
In relation to the presentations, the Union Minister requested that the approved funds be used effectively for the operation of Phase-1 and the purchase of equipment under the roof,
The Union Minister urged officials to prepare the staff needs according to the skill level to be replenished in time, to draw up economic plans for project activities and to complete them according to the plan and constantly study and conduct market research on products, to produce their own products meeting the set standards, to plan in advance to be able to compete with imported iron and steel wares, and to carry out manufacturing activities continuously and the necessary raw materials must also be collected in advance.
In order to be able to fulfill the needs of the State on one hand and to be able to produce commercially, the responsible engineers should establish cost-effective production plans based on the laws of engineering economics and industrial economics and professionals are dedicated to the national interest, the Union Minister said. He ordered them to serve with pride as employees who can serve the interests of the public.
After that, the Union Minister toured the Cold Mill Complex and the factory, which is being built to purchase and store the equipment under shelter, and coordinated and resolved the necessary issues.—MNA
