Union Minister U Khin Maung Yi inspects forest plantations in Bago Region

Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Khin Maung Yi conducted an inspection tour to Bago Region yesterday.
During his visit, the Union Minister inspected the War Katoke Nursery established by Forest Department and checked the seedling production processes for the 2021 rainy season planting campaign.
The Forest Department of Bago Region will establish 4,410 acres of commercial teak plantation, 400 acres of rural firewood plantation, 50 acres of watershed plantation, and plant 1.4 million seedlings for monsoon tree-planting campaign in 2020-2021FY.
The Union Minister then visited the 300 acres of teak plantation established by Forest Product Joint Venture Corporation Ltd in No 101 plot of Ye Nwe forest reserve in Kyaukdaga Township. The officials of farms presented the ongoing programmes and further work plans. — MNA
