U Kyaw Tin, Union Minister for International Cooperation, received Mr. Ola Almgren, the newly-appointed Resident Coordinator of the United Nations system’s operational activities for development in the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nay Pyi Taw on 30 October 2019 at 2 pm . During the meeting, Mr. Ola Almgren presented his credentials to the Union Minister.
After the presentation of credentials, they exchanged views on ways to strengthen cooperation between Myanmar and the United Nations in Myanmar’s efforts for peace and national reconciliation, democracy and development and the implementation of Myanmar Sustainable Development Plan (MSDP), the role of the new Resident Coordinator system of the United Nations and the efforts of the Government of Myanmar for repatriation of displaced persons from Rakhine State and creating conducive environment for returnees.—MNA
