Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn inspects river cruise, hotels in Yangon

Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism U Maung Maung Ohn made an inspection tour to the pleasure craft of the Inland Water Transport, Waterboom in Dawbon Township, Tourism Development Centre in Bosunpat street, Karaweik Hall, Chatrium Hotel, Sedona Hotel and Lotte Hotel on 19 March in Yangon.
The Union Minister, accompanied by the chairpersons and officials of the Myanmar Tourism Federation and its affiliated organizations, took a ride onboard the cruise from the Inland Water Transport along the Yangon River. He instructed the responsible persons to pay special attention to the passengers’ safety who will ride on the cruise and make the price affordable.
People will be able to enjoy exciting scenes, including the beautiful scenery of the Yangon River, colonial buildings of the city, bird species and Dala Shipyard.
At the Yangon Waterboom in Dawbon Township, the Union Minister inspected the preparations of the Waterboom to be able to reopen soon and discussed to make sure the water purification system to enable to ensure the health and safety of the visitors.
Afterwards, he met officials from the Tourism Development Centre on Bosunpat street. During the meeting, the Union Minister stressed the need to comply with the ministry and the government’s policy, follow the rules and orders under the Civil Service Law, and build mutual trust among the officers to develop the tourism sector.
During the inspection tour to Karaweik Hall, Chatrium Hotel, Sedona Hotel and Lotte Hotel, which have been resuming the hotel operation following the COVID-19 rules and regulations, the Union Minister said to prepare a staff list in advance for the priority vaccination of COVID-19 vaccine for hotel staff who are mainly exposed to tourists, to make sure to comply with the COVID-19 preventive measures and to focus on giving better services to the tourists.—MNA
