Union Minister for Planning, Finance and Industry U Soe Win held a discussion on teleconference about loan programmes of the World Bank for Myanmar with Ms Mariam J. Sherman, the Country Director for Myanmar, Cambodia and Laos, yesterday morning.
During the meeting, they held talks on the support of World Bank in Myanmar’s implementation on COVID-19 Economic Relief Plan (CERP) and the loan programmes from the international financial institutions, including US$50 million loan for the Myanmar COVID-19 Emergency Response Project, $5 million loan for the Essential Health Services Access Project (EHSAP), $8 million loan from the Global Pandemic Emergency Facility (PEF), increasing IDA loan of the World Bank up to $200 million for the Myanmar: National Food and Agriculture Systems Project, $100 million loan from IDA for the Essential Health Services Access Project as an additional financing, $10 million grant from Global Financing Facility from the World Bank, and its other supports for Myanmar in implementing the joint project of Country Partnership Framework (2019-2023).
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Ministers U Maung Maung Win, U Set Aung, Dr Min Ye Paing Hein and departmental heads.—MNA(Translated by Aung Khin)
