Union Minister U Thein Swe receives Thailand delegation led by Labour Minister

Union Minister U Thein Swe for Labour, Immigration and Population received a delegation led by Mr. Adul Sangsingkeo, Minister for Labour of Thailand at 9:30 a.m yesterday at the office of Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population in Nay Pyi Taw.
At the meeting, they discussed matters regarding changes in Thailand’s labour policy, amendment of Labour Law, request to give favour to weak compliance of Myanmar’s migrant workers in Thailand while Thailand’s government is doing labour protection activities, sending labours under MoU system, activities that Thailand government issued the Certificate of Identity (CI) by opening CI centers for migrant workers, request for ordinary passport office to relocate at Mahachaing, cooperation to formulate legal remittance system for migrant workers, granting permit for the teachers of migrant worker’s children, request to take actions against cross-border traffickers of Myanmar’s migrant workers, sending 40,000 labours under MoU system to work in Thailand’s fishing industry, cases of sending labours holding fake visa by those unscrupulous employment agents, protection of labours in Thailand’s fishing industry and data of Myanmar’s migrant labour force in this industry, extension of working period, exchanging information between the two countries and strengthening relations of the two countries in dealing with labour problems.
