Union Minister U Wunna Maung Lwin receives the special envoy of the ASEAN Chair

U Wunna Maung Lwin, Union Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar received Mr Prak Sokhonn, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia and special envoy to Myanmar of the ASEAN Chair and Mr Dato Lim Jock Hoi, Secretary-General of ASEAN at 2:00 pm on 21 March 2022 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw.
During the meeting, Union Minister explained that the implementation of the five-point consensus must be a Myanmar-owned and Myanmar-led process. He also highlighted that the special envoy’s first visit to Myanmar would pave the way for confidence-building and understanding to promote cooperation in ASEAN. On the implementation of the five-point consensus, Union Minister reiterated that Myanmar is committed to continuing its cooperation with the ASEAN and that Myanmar’s commitment was shown in deeds since the ASEAN Leaders’ Meeting in Jakarta.
Senior Officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also attended the meeting.
Later in the evening, Union Minister hosted dinner for the special envoy of the ASEAN Chair and Secretary-General of ASEAN at the M Gallery Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw.—MNA
