Union Minister for Industry U Khin Maung Cho visited the Daewoo Bus Myanmar assembling project, a mutually beneficial joint-venture with No 1 Heavy Industries, in Htauntkyant, Yangon, yesterday, and heard a report on erection of buildings and equipment for producing Daewoo buses and mini buses. In response, the Union Minister looked into the requirements in installing chassis assembly line, coach assembly line and engine assembly line in accord with the designated design, and inspected the erection of the shower test. As all the required machinery had already been arrived at the site, efforts are being made to finish the project soonest. Korean trained Myanmar engineers and technicians trained in Korea will join hands with the engineers from South Korea to carrying out the whole production process.
The project will manufacture standard Daewoo buses soon. Moreover a Daewoo Service Center and Product Showroom will also be opened. In the second phase the project will assemble 29-seater mini buses.
The Union Minister instructed the systematic assembling of buses in accord with the set standard for public safety, the realization of the goal and the environmental conservation measures. He looked around the assembly lines and inspected the Korean-made ambulance cars and passenger buses.
The project includes the erection of charging stations and CNG-used vehicles.
Afterwards, the Union Minister visited the training room and office of the electrician training school of the Directorate of Industrial Supervision and Inspection on Kyaikwaing Pagoda Road. He spoke of the need to make cooperate efforts, keep training equipment systematically and the place clean and tidy and to conduct the courses well. —MNA (Translated by TMT)
