Union Sports Minister meets sports teams to compete in 11th ASEAN Para Games

Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Min Thein Zan, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein and Yangon Region cabinet ministers arrived at the Myanmar Paralympic Sports Federation in Dagon Myothit (North) Township at 8 am yesterday and met officials.
Vice-Chairman Colonel Myo Myint (Retired) of the Myanmar Paralympic Sports Federation explained the preparations for the 11th ASEAN Paralympic Games to be held in Indonesia from 30 July to 6 August.
The Union minister said that he has coordinated with Myanmar Airlines to provide athletes with Myanmar Airlines charter flights.
It is planned to honour the athletes who have been honoured by the country in the competition, he added. He said the federation and the ministry need to work together for the success of the sport. After that, the Union minister and party inspected the sports equipment to be used in the competition and the regional chief minister provided K1.5 million to the Myanmar Paralympic Sports Federation. Next, the Union minister addressed the sports teams and watched the competitions of volleyball teams.
Afterwards, the Union minister and party arrived at Theinbyu Boxing Stadium in Mingala Taungnyunt Township and addressed coaches, referees and athletes from Myanmar Traditional Boxing Federation. — MNA
