Union Tourism minister makes field visit to Shan state

Union minister for Hotels and Tourism Dr Htay Aung met Shan state Economic Minister U Khun Thein Maung, the chairman of Hoteliers Association (Kalaw Zone), managers and officials at Hill Top Villa Hotel, Kalaw, Shan State on 5 December.
At the meeting, the Union minister said that there is an outbreak of Omicron in some countries of the world and it is necessary to maintain it with individual health awareness.
“Under the health and safety protocol, we are working to apply for national certifications to enhance the image of Myanmar’s tourism industry through the provision of health and safety services.
“It is necessary to apply as soon as possible on the website organized by the Ministry”, the Union minister said.
The Union minister called on the people to conserve the natural beauty and greenery and the Ministry will support them.
Next, the Union minister arrived in Nyaungshwe and inspected the clearance of water hyacinths and wracks in hotels adjacent to Inlay Lake and compost production in Ngaphechaung village.
Afterwards, the Union minister attended the Enchanting Myanmar Health and Safety Protocol (HSP) National Level Accreditation Ceremony at Aureum Palace Hotel.
The Union minister said that Inlay Lake has become a litter-free and attractive place to visit and urged officials to keep a close eye on the area around the hotel grounds and along the waterways to prevent the re-emergence of water hyacinths and to systematically collect and re-use water hyacinth as fertilizer.
After that, the Shan state director from the Department of Hotels and Tourism explained the status of the Enchanting Myanmar Health and Safety Protocol (HSP) National-Level certification process.
Afterwards, the Union minister awarded officials from Aureum Palace Resort and Myanmar Treasure Resort with the National Level Certificate for Health and Safety (HSP). —MNA
