Vice President Dr Sai Mauk Kham inspects regional development tasks in Pathein

Nay Pyi Taw, 11 May — Vice President Dr Sai Mauk Kham, together with union ministers and deputy ministers, left Nay Pyi Taw for Pathein in Ayeyawady Region on Monday morning.
The vice president and party inspected Pathein General Hospital and greeted patients warmly before meeting with doctors and health staff at the hospital.
At the meeting, medical superintendent of the hospital Dr Tin Maung Nyunt reported to the vice president on treatment of patients, with Chief Minister of Ayeyawady Region U Thein Aung addressing the needs of the hospital.
Afterwards, Deputy Minister for Health Dr Win Myint reported to the vice president on arrangements to be made for the hospital by the ministry.
After the meeting, the vice president greeted hospital staff.
In the afternoon, the vice president and party visited a garment factory of Hakers Enterprise (Myanmar) and observed the production process.
The vice president and party later attended a ceremony to explain regional development tasks held at a garment factory of Delta Industrial Group.
The chief minister of the region reported to the vice president on transportation, electricity supply, greening works and future tasks.
Company officials later reported to the vice president on the Platinum Pathein Housing Project, Industrial City Project and Mya Kyuntha Housing Projects.
In his concluding remarks, the vice president said it was encouraging to see development tasks in Pathein and pointed out the need to develop infrastructure for the long term, and to promote tourism for the short term, before adding that the town will become developed if the projects are successfully implemented.
