Passing out Parade of the Thura Company of the 122nd Intake of Officers Training Course of Defence Services (Army) Officers Training School (OTS) (Bahtoo) was held at the parade ground of the OTS in Fort Bahtoo yesterday morning. On behalf of Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Maha Thray Sithu Min Aung Hlaing, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Thiri Pyanchi Soe Win delivered an address at the ceremony.
First, Vice-Senior General took the salute of the cadet companies, and then inspected the cadet companies. The cadet companies saluted the Vice-Senior General in slow march-past and quick march-past.
Afterwards, the Vice-Senior General presented Best Cadet Award to Cadet Zin Win.
In his address, the Vice-Senior General said peace and stability was required in establishing a union based on democracy and federal system and only when there was stability can development occurs.
Tatmadaw had designated 2019 as year of peace and was striving to achieve and deliver in 2020 the eternal peace desired by ethnic nationals and the people.
Cadets were to maintain the good tradition of the Tatmadaw, strive toward becoming a good leader according to the 16 features of a leader, lead the troops according to rules and regulations, practice and train toward becoming good at following orders, practice and train toward strengthening both physical and spiritual strengths to serve the three main duties and responsibilities of the Tatmadaw, defend and protect the independence and sovereignty of the country, become reliable military leaders for the Tatmadaw, fulfill the assigned duties and overcome any difficulties faced said the Vice-Senior General.
After delivering his speech, Vice-Senior General took the salute of the cadet companies and left the parade.
Once the parade was concluded, Vice-Senior General together with senior military officers of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and the commander of Eastern Command, met outstanding award winning cadets and their parents at the parlour of the guest house and spoke words of honour.
Later in the evening a dinner in honor of Thura Company of the 122nd Intake of Officers Training Course of Defence Services (Army) OTS (Bahtoo) was held at Defence Services (Army) OTS (Bahtoo) Military Appointment Hall and on behalf of Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win attended the dinner, according to news released by Tatmadaw Commander-in-Chief Office.—MNA
