Village/ward reopen in Mandalay and Magway regions

For the proper implementation of administrative mechanisms, Security Forces and members of the township administration negotiated with the residents and elders of the community in Mayga Giri ward, Aungmyaythazan ward, Mintae Eekin ward, Thiri Marlar (west) ward, Pyilone Chanthar ward in Aungmyaythazan Township in Mandalay Region and Gwaykone ward in Myothit Township in Magway Region and opened the ward administration offices which were closed due to the illegal activities, yesterday.

With the aim of undermining community peace and the rule of law in the villages and wards in states and regions, the ward/village administrator are being pressured and rioting in administration office, destroying the signboard of the administration office, writing malicious messages and hanging them in front of the office, locking the door by welding with iron rods in an anarchic manner by the unscrupulous persons.

As a result, the residents do not have the protection of the law and as it is found that the village administration mechanism may malfunction, legal action was taken against those who incited the riots and those involved in the riots, at the request of the residents.—MNA
