Villagers in northern Rakhine receive aid, cash

The Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement delivered aid to villages in northern Rakhine on Friday which had been affected by the armed attacks in October and November last year.
Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Win Myat Aye, along with Rakhine State authorities, delivered food worth more than K10 million to people in ten villages in Maungtaw
Township.
During the visit, the Union minister made arrangements for providing health care services to the people and assisted them to send their children to universities.
At a meeting with locals, Union Minister Dr Win Myat Aye pledged to give humanitarian assistance to all areas which were affected by the violent attacks.
The humanitarian aid team also provided cash assistance to pregnant women and mothers during the visit.
