Visitors love to see the twilight beauty in Bagan, especially at Culamani Lake and Nyaunglaphetkan mound.
View Mounts have been created in the 19 square miles of Bagan to see the natural beauty of the pagodas and Ayeyawady Riverview.
Tourists occasionally see the scenic beauty of Bagan over the temples of Minnnanthu Lake, Komauk Lake, East Ohhtein Hill, and West Ohhtein Hill, Kyaukmyatmaw, Buu, Nyaunglaphak Lake and Culamani Lake.
‘‘Bagan region is a region that is relying on tourism. It is expected that there will be a steady stream of domestic and foreign tourists throughout the tourism season starting from this year’s weekend festival.
‘‘Since the re-opening of the tourism sector after the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the arrival of tourists has not yet reached the previous standard, but we can see that it is increasing year by year.
‘‘When visiting Bagan, one of the must-do things for both local and foreign tourists is to take pictures while enjoying the beauty of the evening twilight.
‘‘Foreign tourists and young people often watch the evening beauty from Culamani Lake and Nyaunglaphak Lake. Bagan region has to develop the tourism sector going forward,” said Deputy Director U Win Aung from the Hotels and Tourism Directorate (Bagan Branch).
Hotels and guesthouses in the Bagan region are almost fully booked for the 2023 Thadingyut Festival. About 3,000 visitors flocked to destinations in Bagan on the Thadingyut Full Moon Day in 2021. The number of visitors rose to 120,000 on the same event in 2022. More visitors are expected to visit Bagan this year. — Nyein Thu (MNA)/KZL
