Inoculation programmes are stepped up in Mandalay.

Due to the increasing number of Covid-19 virus cases in the Mandalay Region, Covid-19 disease treatment centres and clinics have been set up in Mandalay District for prevention and treatment of the pandemic, an official said.
Volunteers who wish to assist in the quarantine centres can contact the District General Administration Department and relevant township management teams, officials continued.
“Charity is a priority for the common good. It is more important at this time. The virus is threatening peoples’ lives. Some people want to work for the common good, regardless of the risk of infection at any time.
If you want to participate voluntarily, you can do it at any age. The clinic and quarantine centres will be set up as needed. Volunteers will be given the necessary medical check-ups before and after taking duties,” said U Tin Win Shwe, chairman of the Mandalay District Administration.
In areas where mobility is restricted, all philanthropists, individually or as a group, are warmly welcomed to work together to prevent the Covid-19 disease, officials said.
“Volunteers have been recruited to help out voluntarily. The relevant authorities and experts will also teach them what they need to know about the disease and what to do next. I urge all those who wish to actively and wholeheartedly cooperate in the prevention and treatment of Covid-19 disease, which poses a threat to the health and life of the people,” U Tin Win Shwe added.
In Mandalay Region, prevention and treatment of Covid-19 disease is being intensified, and quarantine centres are being set up, officials said.
The Covid-19 vaccines have been given to volunteers from respective Covid-19 centres and people aged 65 and over in seven townships of Mandalay District starting from 25 July. — Maung Aye Chan/GNLM
