VUC to compete in AFC Futsal Club Championship

Victoria University College (VUC) Futsal Club will compete in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Futsal Club Championship 2020 set to hold in December, according to a statement with the Myanmar Football Federation. Champion teams or first runner ups from every Domestic futsal league of Asian countries could get a chance to participate in the tourney, according to the AFC. VUC FC is a first runner up of 2019 version of the Myanmar Futsal League and Myanmar Imperial College (MIC) FC is a champion of the tourney.
Myanmar domestic league champions, MIC FC, was initially selected to participate in the AFC Futsal Club Championship. Still, the team was reselected to compete in ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Futsal Championship slated to hold in January 2021. Thus, the chance for participating in the AFC Futsal Club Championship has come for VUC, according to the statement with the Myanmar Football Federation.
VUC could not qualify for quarterfinals of the AFC futsal tourney previous year, and the team is currently preparing their best for earning better results in the tourney, officials said. Lot-drawing ceremony for the AFC Futsal Club Championship will be held in UAE on 3 September, and the tourney will be held from 2 to 13 December, according to the AFC. —Lynn Thit (Tgi)
