Well-wishers donate cash, medical supplies to fight against COVID-19

Donors presented cash funds, and medical equipment to the National-Level Central Committee on Prevention, Control and Treatment of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) and the Ministry of Health and Sports at the ministry in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
On behalf of the donors, an alumnus (12/2013) of University of Medicine 2, Yangon, explained the purpose of the donation.
Speaking at the ceremony, Union Minister Dr Myint Htwe said the donation will be greatly beneficial to the healthcare workers who are fighting against the coronavirus in the frontline.
He also stressed the important role of cooperation from social organizations and the public in containing, preventing and treating the COVID-19.
The Union Minister, Deputy Minister Dr Mya Lay Sein, Permanent Secretary Prof. Dr Thet Khine Win, and Director-General of Public Health and Medical Services Dr Soe Oo, received the donations, and returned certificates of honour to the donors.
Well-wishers and their contributions at the ceremony were K555 million worth of 3M masks, hand santizers, gloves, PPEs, goggles, thermometers and disinfectant spray, K10 million from the 1963 intake doctors of the University of Medicine 1, Yangon, K6.5 million from alumni (12/2003) of University of Medicine 2, Yangon, 500 KN95 masks from the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism, and K76.975 million worth of PPEs, surgical gowns, gloves, masks and powered air purifying respirators (PAPR) from Sea Lion Co., Ltd. — MNA (Translated by Kyaw Zin Tun)
