WFP sends more rice, food aid to Paletwa


Second donation of rice and food items from the World Food Programme (WFP) arrived in Paletwa Township, Chin State, on 7 July, according to the report of Tamadaw True News Information Team.

The statement said that 1,465 rice bags, 360 boxes of oil bottle, 360 pulse bags, 15 salt bags and 52 boxes of nutrition powder were carried by 14 trucks, and the aid arrived in Paletwa on 7 July.

The distribution of relief assistance will be carried out only when the next supplies arrive in there. 2,000 rice bags and other household items had been delivered for the first time on 28 April.

For refugees, local people and departmental staffs in Paletwa, the Tatmadaw donated 100 rice bags on 14 March and 100 rice bags on 15 March, medical supplies for the prevention, containment and treatment of COVID-19 disease on 3 June and the Chin State Government and well-wishers donated 3,528 rice bags, 83 bean bags, 102 salt bags, 25 cooking oil barrels, 21 onion bags and supplies for prevention of COVID-19.—MNA (Translated by Ei Phyu Phyu Aung)
