A wild elephant was found dead near Hsuepaik creek, Wah Chaung village tract, Ngaputaw Township, Ayeyawady Region on Wednesday.A wild elephant was found dead near Hsuepaik creek, Wah Chaung village tract, Ngaputaw Township, Ayeyawady Region on Wednesday.The elephant was found lying on the ground in the early morning of Wednesday, the 13th of December. A local man founded the dead elephant in the morning and alerted authorities.  When officials from the township forestry department and local police forces arrived on the scene, elephant doctors and Friends of Wildlife (FOW) examined the elephant and concluded that the elephant was killed by unknown persons. They also said the elephant hide and trunk were missing from its body. Currently, the forestry department is offering an education campaign to local residents concerning wildlife conservation. Also, local police are searching for the person who killed the wild elephant.
