Workshop on international policing standards kicks off in Mandalay


A workshop on international policing standards, jointly conducted by the International Committee of the Red Cross and the Myanmar Police Force, was held at a hall of the Mandalay Region Police Force on 66th Street in Chanayethazan Township, Mandalay, on 9 December.
The deputy commander of the region’s police force, Police Col Thet Naing, and Mr John-Erik Jensen of the ICRC delivered the opening speeches and exchanged gifts.
The workshop focused on practice of policing authority, crowd control, tasks for prevalence of law and order and use of manpower.
Altogether 30 officers from police forces at different levels and security police branches are attending the workshop from 9 to 11 December.–Thiha Ko Ko (Mandalay)
