XXXII SEA Games: Myanmar wins one gold each in Weightlifting, Traditional Boat Race, one silver in Sepak Takraw

Myanmar female weightlifter Zin May Oo standing on the first position with gold medal in women’s 45-kg weightlifting event on 13 May.

Myanmar’s sport teams claimed one gold medal in Weightlifting, one more gold in Traditional Boat Race, and one silver medal in Sepak Takraw during the XXXII South-East Asian Games held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on 13 May.
Myanmar’s Zin May Oo grabbed one gold medal in the Women’s 45-kg Weightlifting competition against the Philippines, Laos, Thailand, and Cambodia held at Olympic Taekwondo Hall, Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
Next, Myanmar team won one more gold in the Men’s U-24 5-Oar 250-m Event of Traditional Boat Race, by beating host Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, and the Philippines at the Perk Kampot, Kampot City, Kampot Province.
Similarly, Team Myanmar secured one silver medal in the Mixed U-24 12-Oar 250-m Event of Traditional Boat Race.
Sepak Takraw events continued at Basketball Hall NSTC, and Myanmar men’s squad garnered one more silver in the Men’s Double Regu event.
Meanwhile, semifinals of Men’s 9 Ball Pool Double continued at Aeon Hall, Aeon Mall Sen Sok, and Myanmar’s Maung Maung (alias) Bhone Myint Kyaw and Thaw Zin beat the Philippines team by 9-7, and advanced to the final game.
In the final match, they will face team Malaysia.
On 13 May, Myanmar competed in Sepak Takraw, E-sports, Badminton, Billiard, Traditional Boat Race, Weightlifting, Judo, Taekwondo, Volleyball and football games and grabbed two gold and two silver medals.
On 14 May, Myanmar athletes participated in Traditional Boat Race, E-Sports, Sepak Takraw, Cricket, Volleyball, Judo, Billiard, Weightlifting, Taekwondo, and Vovinam events.
In the XXXII SEA Games, Myanmar has so far collected 81 medals: 17 golds, 16 silvers, and 48 bronzes. — MNA/KZL
