Yangon Region Chief Minister U Phyo Min Thein inaugurated Painkan Power sub-station and Zwepalai Power sub-station implemented by the Yangon Electricity Supply Corporation in Kayan Township, in southern Yangon District, on 27 November.
At the opening ceremony, the Chief Minister said a total of 13 power sub-station had been built in rural areas of the Yangon Region in the 2019-2020 financial year with the funds of the Yangon Region government. He added six 33/11 kV 5MVA power sub-stations in northern Yangon District and five other power sub-stations in South Yangon District have been openeds and the rest two will be open soon. He said 100% of the rural people in Yangon Region will have access to electricity by the end of December 2020 and the government is giving priority to the development of roads, safety and stable access to electricity.—San Kyaw Oo (IPRD) (Translated by Ei Phyu Phyu Aung)
