From 1 January 2023, patients wishing to receive medical treatment at the specialty outpatient department of Yangon General Hospital will be allowed only online booking, according to a statement from Yangon General Hospital.
Those patients have to come to the department in the early morning and wait in line to register. Due to the long waiting time for making diagnosis, plans are being made to test the use of the online booking system.
“This online booking system is smart. It is systematic one. But there may be a problem for patients who don’t have knowledge on techniques to tackle cell phones. Moreover, brokers who arrange places may appear in online booking. Even the passport issuance office suspends the only booking system. So, it needs to wait and see. If it’s convenient, that’s fine,” patient U Than Zaw from Sangyoung Township told to the Global New Light of Myanmar (GNLM).
The patients who come to the specialty outpatient department must make a booking through Yangon General Hospital’s Viber or Messenger or caremebot application, and the booking method is described on Yangon General Hospital’s social network page.—TWA/KZL
