
National Climate Smart Agriculture Center opened at the Yezin Agricultural University in Zeyathiri Township yesterday.
The center came into existence as Myanmar facing impacts of the climate change is paying attention to developing of climate change and friendly agricultural methods , said Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation, in his opening remarks at the center.
Myanmar is also working to improve infrastructures and resources including agricultural experts related with climate change as the country is facing climate change induced disasters.
Experts of the ministry are making field trips and disseminate knowledge on climate-change friendly agricultural methods to farmers.
The center was formally opened by Union Minister Dr. Aung Thu and Resident Representative of the Food and Agriculture Organization Ms. Xiaojie Fan.
The center is designed offering research works for post graduate and doctorate program trainees and for producing agricultural experts.
