Ygn-Chengdu-Ygn first relief flight to start on 22 June


During coronavirus pandemic period, Myanmar National Airlines (MNA) under the Ministry of Transport and Communications is planning to fly the first Yangon-Chengdu-Yangon relief flight on 22 June, said U Naing Saw Lwin, the head of business from MNA. “This is the first time to fly to Chengdu, China. It is not a commercial flight. The ministries from China and Myanmar have already coordinated to bring back Myanmar citizens in China and send the Chinese from the Myanmar side. The schedule of the fight is the same as before,” he said.
On 22 June, Yangon-Chengdu-Yangon flight will depart at 10 pm from Yangon international airport and arrive at 1 am in Chengdu town. Then, the flight will depart at 2:30 am from Chengdu and arrive at 5:30 am at Yangon international airport. For those Myanmar citizens in China, they can buy air tickets at a discount price. Chinese citizens will be sent back to China under the permission of the relevant Chinese Ministry. Yangon-Chengdu direct flight has been operating three times a week since 28 December 2018. Yangon-Chengdu-Yangon flight will cost US$330 for a return ticket.
