Youth Affairs Committee Festival organized in Mandalay Region

The Mandalay Region government organized the Youth Affairs Committee Festival at Mandala Thiri Stadium to mark the 76th Anniversary Union Day and welcome the peace talks for the nationwide ceasefire of government yesterday, and was attended by over 25,000 students and youths.
The festival aims to promote the education, health and social sectors of young people, conserve religion, race, culture and literature and develop five strengths and urge the youths to make efforts for the emergence of a modern, developed democratic nation.
First, the Region Chief Minister U Maung Ko, Central Command Commander Maj-Gen Ko Ko Oo and outstanding students of universities/basic education schools cut the ribbon to launch the ceremony.
Speaking at the event, the region’s chief minister said the government set the year 2022 as a peace year and discusses to end the armed conflicts and sustainable eternal peace. The new generations of youths should participate in their respective sectors. The students should sprinkle the peace saplings together with their education to grab peace for everyone.
Then, ethnic students from universities of Mandalay Region discussed the cases that the country can enjoy the fruits of peace and lack of development in regions/states for not having peace. They performed their traditional dances.
Afterwards, the region chief minister observed the booths of respective universities, Myoma Musical Troupe, basic education schools, Anyeint and Satuditha at the event. —MNA/KTZH
