Students of universities and colleges and youth members of districts, towns and villages in Magway Region took part in the first day of Youth All-Round Development Festival (Magway) that was opened at Magway University at 9 am yesterday.
The festival opened booths of universities, colleges, basic education schools and ministries, narcotic drugs awareness booths, anti-child abandonment booths and booths on natural disaster and organized knowledge sharing programs including knowledge for youth, question and answer sessions, quiz program, talks on reproductive health, birth spacing and gender-based violence and anti-child sexual abuse programs.
Moreover, it also held youth talks under the topics “Innovative Youth” and Digital Literacy” and movie stars, Aung Ye Chan, Kyaw Htet Zaw and Wint Yamon Naing, joined in the discussions under the topic – Youth and Arts.
As regards the literature movements, the festival held literature roundtable talks, impromptu talks, English proficiency contest, poem reciting contest, book shows. It also displayed Myanmar traditional musical instruments, seasonal paintings, marionettes, painting and sculpturing demonstrations, ethnic costumes, and free-style dance and demonstration of traditional dances of ethnic races in front of Convocation Hall.
IT activities at the festival included cybersecurity awareness and IT quiz, and recreational sports events were men and women’s tug-of-war, Htok-hsee-htoe, sepak takraw, goal shooting, pillow fight and volleyball matches and wushu and Myanmar martial arts demonstrations were also held.
Popular vocalists gave performances to the accompaniment of Myanma Radio modern music troupe and vocalists of the Peace Music Festival entertained the visitors with songs.
